Obituary

Charles Edward Arnold age 84, of Carpentersville, IL formerly of Elk Grove Village, IL and Panama City, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 10, 2015 at the Autumn Leaves of Crystal Lake. Charles was born on September 3, 1931 in Texhoma, OK, and was the son of the late Omer Clarence and Rhea( nee Boydstun) Arnold. On August 10, 1952 he married the love of his life Audrey Louise Callow. Audrey Louise preceded Charles in death on November 14, 2011 after 59 years of marriage. Charles was a Flight Test Engineer by profession and was a former 22 year employee of the Federal Aviation Administration at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran and served in the Reserves. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers Association. Charles was a former many year member of the First Baptist Church of Elk Grove and a former many year member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, FL. Survivors include his children: Shelley Lynn (A. John former husband and friend) Mullins, Brenda Gayle Van Vleet and Mark Edward Arnold. Other survivors include his 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his brothers: Jimmie (Marite') Arnold and Jerry (Katherine) Arnold, his sister: Kay (the late James) Gray as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife: Audrey Louise, Charles was preceded in death by his son: Gary Wayne Arnold in 1967 and a daughter in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Panama City with the Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Memory Hill Cemetery, Dothan, Alabama. Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, Panama City on Friday Dec. 18, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to either Missionary Aviation Fellowship, The Reserve Officers Association, The First Baptist Church of Panama City or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Charles Arnold.
