Charlene Suzanne Marolla, 74, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, after a brief and brave battle with cancer.
Born in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, raised in Rhode Island, Charlene spent the majority of her life in Panama City Beach, FL.
Charlene was the proud and devoted wife of Ted Marolla, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. She was the cherished mother of two children, JoAnna and Brandon, who carry forward her compassion, humor, and spirit of strength.
Charlene dedicated herself to making others feel welcome, valued, and seen. Whether greeting guests at a hotel front desk or lending a listening ear at a local eatery, Charlene had a magical way of making people smile. Her glistening eyes and radiant smile were windows to her generous soul, and her hugs made everyone feel like family.
Charlene will be remembered not only for the countless lives she touched with her warmth and humor but for the depth of her selflessness. She gave without asking, loved without condition, and lived with a grit and authenticity that was rare and beautiful.
Her presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. The echo of her laughter, the comfort of her embrace, and the lessons she taught simply by being herself will live on in all who were fortunate to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Anne Scherza and one brother, Ron Scherza. She is survived by her husband, Ted Marolla; two children, JoAnna Marolla, Brandon Marolla (Rebecca); two grandchildren, Vivianna and Amelia Marolla; three brothers, Rick, Norm and Danny Scherza; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a hug, lend a hand, or make someone smile in Charlene's memory.
