Our sweetheart, darling Cassandra, 39, passed away August 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 25, 1980 in Gulf Coast Hospital. She graduated from Margaret K Lewis in 2002 and was a homebound member of the First Baptist Church of Southport. She is preceded in death by her father, David Gainer; grandfather, Leroy Parsons; grandparents, J.B. and Josephine Gainer; and cousin, Mason Himel. She is survived by her mother, Cheryl Gainer; step-dad, Bert Simmons; sister, Brandi Gainer (Chad Jenkins); niece, Haley Jenkins; nephew, Elijah Jenkins; grandmother, Mary Clark; aunts and uncles, Jeaneen Boutwell (Mike), Lee Parsons (Patricia), Bert Gainer, Chris Gainer (Frances), Jonette Ford (Byron); many cousins and extended family; caregiver, Shelby Nettles; and friend, Myrna Bullock. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Southport with Rev. Rick Blackerby officiating. Interment will follow in Southport Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Chad Jenkins, Matt Boutwell, Jeff Boutwell, David Bowen, Lee Parsons, Mike Boutwell and Jason Gainer. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice, Dr. S. Khan, Dr. A. Malik and Dr. J. Shumate for their loving care.
