Carthon Lewis Bell, 84, of Panama City, was called home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, November 29, 2007. He was born November 21, 1923 in Houston County, AL. He served in the CC's during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Bell, his parents, William & Quillie Bell, 2 sons, Charles Bell, Kenneth Bell, daughter, Marie Lewis and a sister, Euna Spence. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Landingham and husband, Robert of Lynn Haven; 2 sons, James Lewis Bell and wife, Mary of Panama City; Ronald Lee Bell and wife, Joyce of Milton, FL; sister, Eloise Johnson and husband, Johnny of Michigan;18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Nelson and Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the New Providence Church Cemetery, Slocomb, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. The family will be at the home of Mary Landingham, 1509 Texas Ave., Lynn Haven. The family would like to thank everyone at Community Health & Rehabilitation and the nurses at Bay Medical Center who took care of our Dad. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
