Carroll Evans Howell, 70 of Lynn Haven, FL passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, Dec. 10th in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 10, 1943 in Panama City, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City, and graduated from Bay High School in 1961.
He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, and was actively involved in David Gibson's Sunday School Class.
He owned the Bostonian Shop and the Shirt Tale on Harrison Avenue in the early 70's. He then began a long career at Lloyd Pontiac Cadillac GMC where he was general sales manager. He retired from the car business in 1995. Most recently he was a mortgage broker with A Better Way Mortgage Company.
He was an avid University of Alabama football fan, and was a Past-President of the Red Elephant Booster Club in Panama City. He was a member of the Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, and upon retirement delivered Meals on Wheels with the Bay County Council on Aging. In his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed lunch outings with friends, fishing trips to Lake Eufaula, and spending time with his family and grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Guy Carroll, his mother Agnes Carroll Steiner, and his brother Kenneth Steiner.
He is survived by the love of his life, Glenda Howell, his two daughters Angela Howell Seiffer and her husband John, Sherry Howell Whitlock and her husband John, four grandchildren Emily Whitlock, Mary Beth Whitlock, Camille Seiffer and John Howell Seiffer, three brothers, Van Allen Steiner, Robin Howell, Fred Howell and a sister Tracy English, Special Aunt Elma Guy Hollis, cousins Sandy Harrison and Karen Stovall and husband Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Sears officiating. A private family entombment will follow. The family will receive friends Friday, December 13th at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Active pallbearers are Ron Hamlin, Duncan McQuagge, Don Parmer, Jim Prater, Norman Segler, Bill Snuggs, Gary Terrell, Bill White, and Mykle Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bay High School Class of 1961, David Gibson's Sunday School class of First Baptist Church and members of the Red Elephant Booster Club. The family would like to thank Dr. Daffin, Dr. Slavens, Dr. Reddy and the nurses at Covenant Hospice.
