Carolyn "Jean" Bentz passed away June 17, 2009. She was born September 15, 1940 in Kansas City Missouri and lived in that area until she moved to Panama City. Jean attended Central Missouri State University. She worked at AT&T for two years and during that time met her friend and partner for life. She married Raymond Bentz in January of 1962 and one year later moved to Panama City. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Jean worked for the Bay County School System for 21 years and also volunteered for several community organizations. She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, her only sibling. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bentz, and three sons; Jeffrey Bentz of Panama City, Scott Bentz of Tallahassee, Michael Bentz of California and four grand children Austen, Seton, Lauren and Krystal. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Betty Bradbury of Kansas City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 PM. A memorial service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, June 22 at 10 a.m. to celebrate her life.
