CAROL MILTON (ROCKY) ROCKHILL
Carol Milton (Rocky) Rockhill went to his eternal rest on April 10, 2009. Rocky grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated from Gordon Military College in Barnesville, Georgia. He married his longtime sweetheart, Sue Johnson, in 1950, then joined the USAF. Rocky returned to Birmingham and attended UAB. He then moved his family to Panama City and was employed by Arizona Chemical Company until retirement. He was a member of United Chemical Workers Union, a life member of Am Vets Post 2298, Life Member of VFW Post 8205, a member of Harry Jackson Masonic Lodge #314 and was a former member of the Elks Lodge and the Panama Country Club.
Rocky was predeceased by his parents, Loren V. Sr. and Mary Buckner Rockhill, one brother, four sisters, and their spouses. Sadly he was recently predeceased by his son, John Loren Rockhill and his daughter, Judy Rockhill. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Sue Rockhill, a grandson, Joshua H. Rockhill, two granddaughters, Brienn Rockhill, and Angela Sue Haskins, and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Faircloth Rockhill.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. on Monday prior to the service. A reception will follow at the Parker VFW Post 8205, 735 S. Hwy. 22-A.
The family offers special appreciation to Dr. Marwan Obid, the loving staff of Emerald Cost Hospice, and Rocky's special friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may send a donation to VFW Post 8205 for their Memorial Wall in Rocky's memory.
