CARLYLE WILLIAM DIXON

Carlyle William Dixon, 73, of Panama City, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at his home. He was born on February 12, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama. He retired in 1998 from Motorola after working as a national marketing manager for over 32 years. He had been a resident of Panama City for the past eight years moving from Virginia. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he attended LLL Sunday School Class. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry Dixon, and a son, Ward Leslie Dixon. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Webb Dixon; 3 daughters, Marcia Burgans, Brenda Dixon Branch and her husband Johnny, and Virginia Dixon; son, William Mark Dixon and his wife, Eileen, 2 step-daughters, Andrea Chester and her husband Phil, and Julieann Palmer; 17 grandchildren, Jason Dixon, Richard Dixon and wife Kristen, Melissa Evans, Julie Branch, Natalie Branch, Carla Branch, Joshua Branch, Iris O'Neal, Rachel O'Neal, April O'Neal, Kathleen Dixon, Stephanie Dixon, Erin Dixon, Brannon Chester, Colby Chester, Alexis LaGasse, and Reagan Palmer; 6 great-grandchildren, Vincent Dixon, Sarah Evans, Michael Evans, Daniel Evans, Lexie Gossen, and Isabella Hardy, and 2 brothers, Johnny Dixon and Michael Dixon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Manny Garcia officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to The First Baptist Church Children's Ministry in memory of Mr. Dixon.
