Carl DuPuis passed away peacefully in Panama City on January 26, 2010. He was born in Alachua, Florida on June 25, 1913. Carl moved to Miami in 1930, during the depression. He went to work for his uncle, Doctor Gordon DuPuis at the White Belt Dairy.
He married June Hose, who was working in Miami at that time. June had two children, June (Plyler) and Harold. Carl and June later had one son, Richard.
Carl became a real estate investor in Miami. He retired in the 70's and moved to Apalachicola,
Florida. After June passed away due to a lengthy health issue, he then moved to Panama City, Florida. He spent the last thirty five years in Panama City. He then met and married Mildred Woodall, who preceded him in death in early 2009. Carl is survived by his sister, Jean Huggins; his son, Richard DuPuis and wife, Karren, their two sons, Ross and his wife, Linda and their daughter Mia; Sean and his wife Leasha, and their two children, Lauren and Landon; three step daughters, Janice, Robin, and Elizabeth; step son, Harold Hose and wife Pat and their two daughters, Laurel and Val; step daughter, June and Paul Plyler, both deceased, but left a wonderful family of five children Sandy, Bucky, Mark, Kyle, and Paula.
Carl was a true gentleman, who lived a rich and full life. We wish him happiness in his journey! A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. EST at Newnansville Cemetery in Alachua, Florida. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Salvation Army in memory of Carl DuPuis.
