In Loving Memory of Brenda Gail Ross Gordon
May 12, 1948 – April 15, 2020
Brenda was born on May 12, 1948 to Oscar Ray Ross and Betty Mae Ross in Griffin, Georgia. She was the oldest of 3 girls.
Brenda's first few years were spent in Griffin, Georgia. However, she grew up on 2945 Clifton Church Road SE, Atlanta, Georgia.
Brenda loved to sing, swim, and play the piano. She was a member of Gresham Park Baptist Church where she was Baptized.
Brenda graduated Gordon High School in 1966. During her Senior year of high school, Brenda worked at the candy counter in Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, Georgia. After she graduated from high school, Brenda continued to work for at Rich's. She worked in the gift wrap and key punch departments. Then she worked for the Southern Bell Telephone Company. Later she worked at Clayton General Hospital (now Southern Regional Hospital) in Data Processing.
While working at Clayton General, she met her husband of 32 years, Robert Gordon. They have lived in Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and overseas in Germany.
Brenda loved having her family near her. She and Robert especially enjoyed bringing her grandchildren, mother, sister, and friends over to Germany to vacation and tour Europe with them.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Robert Gordon. Three children; Jennifer Pratt, James D. Williams Jr. (wife Kirsten), and Katrina Gordon. Four grandchildren; Brittney Speck, Taylor Brown (husband Charlie), Sierra Byrge (husband Jonas), and Randie Gordon. One great-grandson, Dallas Macoby. Two sisters; Carol Couey (husband Don), and Donna Powell (husband Charles). One nephew, Zachary Couey (wife Kristie). One niece, Michele Channel (husband Drew). Two great-nieces, five great-nephews, and many cousins.
Brenda was a good Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Sister-in-Law, Aunt, and Cousin.
Brenda is at peace now. She has gone to be with her heavenly family that has gone before her. We will miss her dearly. We say our last hurrah and goodbye, and tell her that we will see her on the other side.
