Billye Coombs Carter, passed away on January 4, 2022 at the age of 92.  Billye is proceeded in death by her parents B.H. and Neil Coombs, her brother J.W. Coombs, and her husband Thomas R. Carter Jr.  She is survived by her son Thomas Reed Carter III of Crestview FL, LaDonna Walsingham (Joe) of Lynn Haven FL, and Nanette Davis (Brock) of Marietta GA; five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.

Billye was born and raised in north Mississippi. She graduated college from Memphis State and had a long and rewarding career as an Educator. She married Tom Carter in 1956 and they enjoyed raising their family and pursuing their careers at numerous communities in the southeast.  She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in each of those communities.  For the last five years, Billye was a beloved resident at Mathison Retirement Community in Panama City, FL.

Billye devoted her life to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ through kindness, joy, service, and generosity.  She believed that any talent, no matter how small, could be used to bring joy or comfort to others.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mathison Retirement Community through the Fountain of Love Fund.
