BILLY ASHLEY JR.
Billy Ashley Jr., 76, of Arden, NC, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in Panama City, FL. He was born April 26, 1930 in Abbeville, S.C. to W.W. & Claudia Ashley. He was former president of Ashley Engineering Company. He was a member of the Skyland United Methodist Church, the Home Builders Association, and was a former member of the City of Ashville Planning Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Samanthia Ashley and Catherine Pruett. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary C. Ashley of Arden, son, Mark Ashley and wife, Leigh Anne of Pass Christian, MS; daughter, Ann Ashley Leonard and husband, Mitch of Asheville, NC, sister, Dorothy Pruett of Neeses, MS, 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 in the Skyland United Methodist Church, Skyland, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Eliada Home, 2 Compton Drive, Asheville, NC 28816.
