Billy Gene Blount, Sr., 79, of Panama City, passed away November 9, 2013 in his home. He was born on March 29, 1934 to Lester T. and Callie Mae Blount. He was a retired chemist for the International Paper Company. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He served in the Sheriff's Office Auxiliary and was also a NRA certified Fire Arms Instructor. He was a member of the Mill Creek Gun Club. As a hobby, Billy enjoyed building cabinets. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Blount and his daughter, Cynthia Denise Blount and his father. He is survived by his five children, Elaine Farmer (Terry), Paula Chandler (Mark), Sandra Hand (Jack), Billy Blount Jr. (Drema) and Bobby Blount; mother, Callie Mae Blount; sister, Evon Raffield (Bill); ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday November 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m., one hour prior to service time. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Jones and the Mill Creek Gun Club.
