Beverly T. "Aunt Bev" Hammonds passed away on August 16, 2020.  She was born in Richmond, VA on August 16, 1934.  She is survived by her sons, Brian H. Hammonds, David H. Hammonds (Diana Lynn), nephews and nieces, Larry C. Moses (Sharon), Cary L. Moses (Jackie), Sonia Klingensmith, her precious "little tornado" great niece Amanda Lee Moses and great nephew, Coleman Glenn Moses and several first cousins in Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hugh Hammonds, mother, Elise S. Taylor and father, William A. Taylor. "Aunt Bev" was a registered nurse, graduating from Riverside Hospital School of Nursing in Newport News, VA.  She worked in the operating room at Kecoughton Veteran's Hospital in Newport News, VA and then McGuire Veteran's Hospital in Richmond, VA.  After that, she worked in the operating room at Riverside Hospital.  She then moved to Bay County, FL with her husband and sons to make their new home in 1967.  After applying at Bay Memorial Hospital, she was hired to work in the medical/surgical service and then the emergency room which she enjoyed very much. She started in  Home Health Care and remained there until her retirement in 1996.  During her career she met so many wonderful, helpful and friendly people. During any time off, she loved to be with her Joys-her sons and other family members. She loved to read, drive in the woods, play bridge and mostly fresh water fishing. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 12 noon in the Callaway Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.  Those desiring may make memorial donations to The Nature Conservancy or to the Rocky Mountain Vet.
