Beverly Beck Carothers, 81, of Panama City, passed away peacefully at her home on December 7, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Mae Beck and brothers Bennie, Willie (Peg) and Teddy Beck and grandchild Jeffrey Correa.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George Carothers, children; Lisa Kelly (Terry) of Panama City, Kevin Carothers of Pittsburgh, PA and Kerri Carothers of Panama City, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Beverly grew up in St Andrews and graduated from Bay High in 1955 as an honors student. She worked at Tyndall AFB for 10 years where she met her husband, a Captain in the Air Force. She left her beloved sun, sand and Gulf waters to move to Pittsburgh, PA where she was married on August 1, 1970. Together they lived in Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA where she raised a family and worked for many years as Business Manager for St Paul's United Methodist Church in Allison Park, PA. While she loved Panama City, she also learned how to bundle up in warm clothing and drive in and shovel snow. She and her husband retired to her family home in Panama City in 2008. She was always reserved, clever, kind, sweet, funny and caring of others. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Her faith in God was strong and supported her throughout life. Her unselfish love and kindness will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St Andrews Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 3007 W. 14th St., Panama City FL 32401 in memory of Beverly Carothers.
