Betty Wray Moore, 91, of Panama City Beach, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was born April 23, 1931 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James S. Moore Jr., son Thomas Moore five siblings, Lula Opal Edwards, Morgan Leon Wray, Johnnie Walter Wray, Chester Reese Wray, Harry Rich Wray. She is survived by three children; Roger Moore (Toni), Renese Moran, Christina Gordon (John); grandchildren; Megan Stodard (Christopher), Michael Moore (Megan), Raymond Bates (Brandi Purvis), Ryan Bates (Wendy), Katerina Gordon, Svetlana Gordon; sister-in-law, Charline Struve, special nephew Ken Struve, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty met and married James (Jim) 28 April, 1949 in Montgomery, Ala. Her biggest love was her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being a scout leader when her children were young. As her children got older, she volunteered at her church and sang in her church choir. She also volunteered at Gulf Coast Hospital and Bay Sacred Heart Hospital. Betty never met a stranger and touched many lives with her kindness and genuine smile. As Betty's health declined, even on her last days, she never stopped making everyone around her smile and thanked them for everything.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 3 p.m. at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Fr. Rian Adams, Rector officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2:30-3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 in memory of Betty Wray Moore.
