Betty Parker Jay, 85, of Panama City, passed from this life to her eternal home on Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born December 17, 1930 in Enterprise, AL to Paul and Folede Parker. She was a retired Engineering Secretary for Tyndall Air Force Base and Arizona Chemical, and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who always looked for the good in everyone. Her kindness, love, and faith in Christ was lived out in everything she did. Betty was one of the greatest prayer warriors to ever walk this earth. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Jay; son, Timothy David Jay; brother, Joe Shehee; and sister, Inez Crutchfield. She is survived by 3 children, John Craig Jay and wife, Terri, Brenda Paris and husband, Les, Jeffrey Jay and wife, Shayne; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Jay, Jon David Jay, Holly Walker, Katie Barker, Rick Sebastian, Jessica Paris, Shelby Jay, John Brycen Jay, Colten Jay, Ally Jay, Cade Jay; 7 great grandchildren, Kaden Jay, Finley Barker, Reagan Jay, Campbell Barker, Madison Walker, Eli Walker, Holden Sebastian; a sister, Paula Sasser; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Peddie officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Those desiring to may make a donation to The Gideons International, or a charity of your choice in her memory.
