Betty Mae White Braghini passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Andrews Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Panama City, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Braghini, and her parents Frank Stuart White and Effie Mae Taulbee White. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Braghini Bernstein (Phil), grandsons Eric Daniel Bernstein and Alex Matthew Bernstein, and sisters Sandra Okeson (Carl) and Marsha Warren (David).
Betty was born on August 11, 1930 in Middletown, Ohio. She was the first of three girls. Starting college at the University of Dayton, she went on to graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a B.A. degree in English and minors in Spanish and History. She first taught in Dayton, Ohio and later in Broward County, Florida. Over her career she taught children from elementary school through high school, but her favorite grade was 5th. She loved her schoolchildren as if they were her own and was always involved in school activities. A gifted seamstress, pianist and vocalist, Mrs. Braghini made all the costumes for the plays she wrote for her children to perform in and she accompanied their singing on the piano. Adept at sewing, Betty loved making special crafts for friends and strangers alike, throughout her life. After retirement, she moved to Panama City to be closer to her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida.
