Beth Coleman Branch
October 30, 1943 - April 9, 2025
Beth Coleman Branch passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Cove home on April 9th, 2025 at the age of 81. Beth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was a woman of genuine integrity and kindness.
Beth graduated from Bay High School in 1961 and went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree at Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C. She was a school secretary at Hooper Academy in Hope Hull, Alabama. ( It has been speculated that she took the job so she could keep a close eye on her children who were enrolled there.) After moving back to Panama City, she worked as a secretary and medical assistant to Dr. Joseph Morris for many years until his retirement. Later, Beth went to work at the Floyd Medical Center stroke recovery unit in Rome, Georgia and retired as a traveling medical coder.
Beth enjoyed traveling and spending time in her yard gardening and back porch sitting; but her biggest joy in life was entertaining a house full of her children and their friends. There was always an open door policy at Beth's house and If you were a friend of one of her children, you were a friend of hers. Everyone was welcome to stay as long as they liked, and no one ever went away hungry.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Alpheus and Alice Weber Coleman, and her brother W.H. "Buster" Coleman.
She is survived by her Children James G. Branch (Kathleen), Ellen Middlemas, Amelie Branch and Powell C. Branch (Tammy), Sisters in Law Rosamond Coleman and Georgia Davis, dear friends Ann Parmer and Bette Powell, seven grandchildren and 9 great grand children.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3 pm with Rev. Jack Hankins officiating.
