BERTHA FINCH GAY
Bertha Finch Gay, 90, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009. She was born April 10, 1919 in Chipley, Florida. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City, where she attended Grover Holland's "Phileo" Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, V. C. "Coy" Gay; son, John Gay and wife, Terry, of New Hope, FL; two grandsons, Stephen Gay and wife, Meg, Christopher Gay and wife, Renee, all of Panama City Beach; four great grandsons, Taylor Gay, Jackson Gay, Peyton Gay, Hayden Gay; brother, Mack Finch and wife, Martha, of Panama City; special niece, Barbara Finch, of Chipley, and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 – 5 p.m. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Rush Akin and his staff. Active pallbearers will be John Gay, Stephen Gay, Christopher Gay, George Gay, Jayson Gay and Mark Gay. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Grover Holland's "Phileo" Sunday School Class.
