Berta Ann Kirk
1927-2013
Berta Kirk passed peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
Berta and her husband, Frank Kirk, were the original founders of the Panama City Rescue Mission in 1972, at its original location in the old Bay Hotel building on Beach Drive. She was a faithful member of the Central Baptist Church for many years and a secretary at Panama City Christian School. Berta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank A. Kirk; daughter, Brenda Kirk Reagan, and husband, Michael G. Reagan; granddaughter, Michelle Reagan Bishop and husband, Christopher L. Bishop; and two great-granddaughters, Lily and Laura Bishop, all of Panama City Beach. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Elise Reagan, formerly of Panama City Beach, now residing in Norfolk, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Edna Frye; and her sister, Norma Jean Bumgardner, of Charleston, West Virginia. Berta's family wishes to thank the caring and loving staff at Glencove Nursing Pavilion for the excellent care she received during the many years she suffered with Alzheimer's disease.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.
