Bert Benjamin Kolmetz Sr., 82, of Callaway, FL passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010. He was born August 2, 1927 in Slocomb, AL to John T. & Effie Kolmetz. He has been a resident of Callaway, FL for most of his life.

He has been retired from Gulf Power for many years and loved spending time with family, fishing and gardening. He was predeceased in death by his loving wife, of 58 years, Mary Lois Kolmetz, whom he was completely devoted to. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters, Henry Kolmetz, Alice Taylor, Arnella Elder, Ethelle Roddengerry, Dessie Halligan. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will we be truly missed.

He is survived by four sons, Bert Kolmetz Jr., and wife, Sharon of Warner Robbins, GA, John Kolmetz, of Panama City, Tim Kolmetz and wife, Linda, Joey Kolmetz and wife, Deanna, all of Callaway; four grandchildren, Trey Kolmetz, Chris Kolmetz, Jeff Kolmetz and his granddaughter Hayley Kolmetz, who could always make him smile, 3 precious great-grandchildren and very special nieces and nephews and cousins whom he loved very much. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Thomas Victor Kolmetz Sr. officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Live Oak Cemetery in Washington County, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
