Bernie Joe Nance, 79, of Panama City, passed away July 10, 2010 in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Panama City for 14 years, moving here from Concord, North Carolina. He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Concord, North Carolina. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and served as the hospital pharmacist for Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil Nance and Lee Nance. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lynn Nance of Panama City, two daughters, Donna Tran and husband Quang of Lynn Haven, Kelly Nance of Panama City, three grandchildren, Benjamin Tran, Nicholas Tran, Emily Tran, all of Lynn Haven. He is also survived by his older sister, Violet Rice of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Lynn Haven Cemetery with Rev. Tom Weller officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
