Bernice Anderson Pratt
1915-2012

Bernice Anderson Pratt passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

Bernice was born on September 6, 1915 in Glendale, Florida, the second of seven children to G.W. and Palestine Anderson. She married the love of her life, Stuart A. Pratt Sr. on November 16, 1933. Stuart preceded her in death in 1991. She also was preceded in death by son, Stuart Arthur Pratt Jr; granddaughter, Melissa Ann Houpt; brothers, Kade, Burruss and Noah; and her sisters, Grayce and Joyce. She is survived by her daughter, Ann P. Houpt and husband Roy Houpt Jr.; dear sister, Margaret Duncan; grandsons, Ronald Houpt (Margarett) and Roy Houpt III (Penny); great granddaughters, Laura Macks (Allen), Kaitlin Shaw (Kristain) and Alexis Houpt; great great grandchildren, Jesse, Allen and Haylee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice was a long-time member of Parker United Methodist Church and resided in Parker, Florida for 78 years where she was a homemaker and loved to cook and sew for her family. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., for the celebration of Bernice's life. The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday January 28, 2012 at the Parker United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Stringfellow officiating. Graveside service will follow at Parker Cemetery.
