Bernice (Bea) Castleberry Sheeder

Bernice Castleberry Sheeder, 82, of Mexico Beach, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009. She was born December 9, 1926 in Adel, GA. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe, where she sang in the choir. She was a founding member of the Special Events Committee in Mexico Beach and worked as the secretary of the Mexico Beach Community Development Council for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Sheeder. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra McInnis and husband, John; two sons, Kent G. Sheeder and wife, Jackie, Eric S. Sheeder and wife, Sherri; two grandsons, John (Jack) McInnis and wife, Debra and Kevin Sheeder; three great grandchildren, Cameron and John (Johnny) McInnis and Jessyka Sheeder and one great-great grandson, Maverick Sheeder. She was one of eleven children born to Jesse Ab and Minnie Ola Castleberry and is survived by four sisters, Lurine Becker, Dorothy Thompson, Loretha Evans and Jean Jarvis.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 3 PM EST.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Bay County Humane Society, the Foundation at Bay Medical Center or the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe, FL.
