BENJAMIN F. STARLING, JR.

Benjamin F. Starling, Jr. of Panama City, FL, died on August 7, 2009, at home with his family by his side. Ben was born on June 22, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Fulton High School and lived most of his life in the Atlanta area and for a number of years in Wilkes County. In 2005 he retired to the St. Andrews community in Panama City. He was a lifelong entrepreneur who inspired friends and family with his positive attitude on life. During his career he owned several successful businesses and later in life forged a new career selling automobiles. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fresh and saltwater fishing and was blessed with many lifelong friends cultivated through sharing time at work or with a fishing pole in hand.

Ben was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ben F. Starling, Sr. and Lucille Oglesby Starling and his brother, Allen Starling. He is survived by two children, daughter, Penny Kay Lindsey and her husband Randy; granddaughter, Ashley Denard and her husband Greg, of Cumming, GA; granddaughter, Ivy Lindsey, of Panama City, FL; daughter, Nina Gay Chambers and her husband John; granddaughter Madison Chambers, of Panama City, FL; grandson Cody Schmotz and his wife Megan of Birmingham, AL; grandson, Ben Schmotz, his wife Samantha and great granddaughter, Reagan, of Cumming, GA. He is also survived by his close friend and ex-wife, Pat Starling, whom through this union his children were born.
