Ben Grady Smith, 84, of Panama City, Florida, passed away December 27, 2015. He was born June 26, 1931 to Wade and Verlie Smith. He was a retired shipping dispatcher for Chevron Oil Company. He was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jennings Smith. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Peters) Smith; two children, Bobby Smith (Sarah) and Linda Ramsey (Steve); five grandchildren. Sandra Gilmore (Robert), Amanda Ramsey, Melissa Coogle (Tom), Sharon Gillespie, and Michael Bassett; six great-grandchildren, Austin Rhodes (Alexandra), Christina Hancock, Jayda Gillespie, Haylee Coogle, Brayden Coogle, and Nathan Coogle; and a special sister-in-law, Jeanette Smith. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 12 pm noon in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11-12 prior to the service.
