Beatrice Louise Moates, 93, of Chipley, FL passed away on Sunday March 25, 2018. She was born on October 9, 1924 in Tampa, FL to William and Mamie Lee Hood Findley. She grew up in St. Andrews and graduated from At. Andrews School. She spent many hours along the shores of beloved St. Andrews Bay with her friends and siblings. She was baptized at St. Andrews Baptist Church then later was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She had numerous hobbies which included bird watching and gardening flowers and vegetables. She also had a love for dogs and her cat. She was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, Willie Pitts, Arthur Gill, Frances Kind, Ann Ferris, and seven other Findley siblings. She is survived by her two children, Annette Sasser (Roy Sr.), Grover Moates (Alma); five grandchildren, Roy Sasser Jr. (Rita), Kevin Sasser (Hope), Keith Sasser (Angie), Gene Moates, Teresa Fountain; six great grandchildren, Taylor Sasser, Tyler Sasser, Kimberly Moates, Devin Moates, Kera York, Devin Blackwell; one great-great grandson, Dominick Chaffer; one brother, William Findley (Maxine); and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Chaplin Jeremy Clifford officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:30-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to your local animal shelter in memory of Beatrice Moates.
