Barbara Nichols Slater, 68, of Lynn Haven, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in her home. She was born June 6, 1951 in Panama City, Florida. Barb loved her family, cats, hanging out at the beach and playing racquetball. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Paul Nichols and a nephew, Marc Heinig. She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Slater; mother, Josephine Houchin; two sisters, Gail Nichols Hogg (George Jordan), Brenda Blackwell (Jacob); sister-in-law, Eileen Heinig (Walt); stepdaughter, Dawn Slater; grandson, Asher Snyder; nieces and nephews, Erik Heinig, Christine Watford (Rob), Rhonda Clark, Jay Blackwell (Tammy), Tracy Blackwell; two great nephews, Cody Watford, Nic Watford and a great niece, Faith Blackwell. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon-1:30 p.m. Monday prior to the graveside.
