Our beloved mom, Barbara Ann Shepard Ellis, went to Heaven on September 19, 2015. She has now joined her one and only love and husband, Paul. She once again is with her parents, Rev. Hugh and Jane Shepard. Mom was born on February 24, 1930 in Wilmington, North Carolina. She lived in North Carolina until they moved to Panama City, Florida in 1945, at the time her father started preaching at Millville Advent Christian Church. She went on to study at Aurora College, but had to leave due to her health. She then moved back to Panama City, where she met Paul, who was their mailman. After marrying Paul, she went on to raise 6 kids. She eventually went back to school and got her degree in Restaurant Management and went on to manage several local restaurants. She also served as the choir director for several years at Millville Advent Christian Church. She loved music and had a beautiful soprano voice. She loved her pets, Prince, Wewe, Shane, Taylor, and Sydney were just a few and Bobo.
She and Paul lost one child, their second born, Rick, in 1981. She is survived by her children, Steve of Texas; Gary and Connie of Jacksonville; Scott and Dana of Atlanta. She also leaves behind her love, Bobo. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family throughout North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
