AVIE A. HUGHES

Avie A. Hughes went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 15, 2010. She was born December 11, 1920 in Walton County, FL but lived most of her life in Bay County, Florida. She loved her family and nothing made her happier than having them around her. She is survived by her daughters, Jan James (Jerry) of Jacksonville, FL, Josie Webb of Panama City; Jo Smith (Larry) of St. Mary's GA; her son, Joel Geoghagan (Carol) of Panama City; her grandchildren, Sherrie Zier of Fayetteville, NC, Cindy Zier of Jacksonville, FL, Lori Morgan, Jeff Geoghagan, Kim Kirchoff of Panama City, Avie DeMorat, Joel Smith, Scott Smith and Cody Powell of St. Mary's GA; her great-grandchildren, Jessica Taylor, Erica Taylor, Gerald Moore, Michael Taylor, Carol Ann Kirchoff, Rachael Taylor, Danyelle Kirchoff, Dallas Morgan, Alexis Geoghagan, Gabby Nelson, Shiloh Smith, Jaxon Morgan, Ashton DeMorat, Lydia Smith, Bella Taylor, Taylor Smith, Trinity Smith and one great-great granddaughter, Mattie Wyers.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2010, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August 17, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. Asked to serve as pallbearers are George Hughes, Wes Morgan, Jeff Geoghagan, Joel Smith, Scott Smith and Larry Smith. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
The family will receive friends at the home of Lori and Wes Morgan immediately after the services.
