Audrey Lightsey, 87, of Panama City Beach, FL passed away peacefully at Covenant Hospice on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
Former owner of Beach Package Store in Panama City Beach, Audrey greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. She was a wonderful ambassador for Panama City Beach tourism. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She is survived by sons, Furney James Griffin and wife Deborah of Brentwood, TN and David Earl Griffin and wife Theresa of Panama City Beach, FL. She is pre-deceased by son, Larry Curtis Griffin of Panama City Beach, FL.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Natalie Griffin Lynch (John), Casey Griffin, Nathan Griffin (Rachel), Justin Griffin (Lauren), Shane Griffin and Shelby Griffin; great grandchildren, Ayden Lynch, Logan Lynch, Colin Griffin, Lia Griffin and Parker Griffin.
Audrey is survived by her sister, Ida Mae Brown; brother, Bobby Lightsey; and her sisters-in-law, Margurete Lightsey and Elfriede Lightsey. She was pre-deceased by her brother Clifford Lightsey. All are of Panama City. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She had many friends, especially at Gulf Highlands, who have graciously been there for her. Her family is very grateful to her wonderful friend and hairstylist, Bernice Horn and her caring friend and past neighbor, Dan Fletcher.
If you did not know Audrey during her life on earth, you missed knowing a beautiful, funny, gracious and kind woman who blessed the lives of all who knew her.
Services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2 pm. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405, in her memory.
