ATHA THREATTE HOLLOMON
Atha Threatte Hollomon, 97, of Panama City, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was born July 3, 1916 in Pavo, Georgia. As a young woman, she was a nursing supervisor at Emory University Hospital during World War II. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City and the LLL Sunday School Class. She was also a past member of the Panama City Woman's Club and the Gideon's Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. J. Hollomon; son, Gary Lee Hollomon; one sister; and eight brothers. She is survived by her two children, Janis Atha Hollomon Henry (Barry) of Atlanta, GA, John Hollomon (Bren) of Panama City; five grandchildren, Suzanne Henry Loyd (Jeremy), Richard Hollomon Henry (Kelley), Corey Allen Hayes (Carmen); Andrea Marie Hayes-Conner (Jeremy) ; five great grandchildren, Catherine Elizabeth Loyd, Margaret "Maggie" Julia Loyd, Taylor McKenzie Hayes, LilliAnne Marie Hayes, TristinAllen Jayce Conner; caretaker and dear friend, Mary Louise Breithaupt and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 7 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Gideon's International, P.O.
