ARCHIE EUGENE "GENE" HATHAWAY

Archie Eugene "Gene" Hathaway, 81, of Panama City, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2008. He was born September 29, 1929 to Archie Bell and LeeAnna Lee Hathaway. He was retired owner and operated of IC Contractors. He had been a resident of Bay County all his life. He was a member of the Bayou George Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Johnny Marion Hathaway and Simon H. Hathaway. He is survived by his wife, Christine Lollie Hathaway, of Panama City, children, Edwin E. Hathaway and wife Sandy of Bear Creek, Albert E. Hathaway and wife Kay of Clarksville, Gloria H. Chapman and husband Art of Panama City, Vann Hathaway and wife Terry of Panama City, Benjamin D. Hathaway and wife Samantha of Bayou George, 14 grandchildren, Stacy Hathaway, Mollie Hudson, Christina Gaultney, Lee Jay Hathaway, Casey Griffin, Jason Hathaway, Vanna Hathaway, Hope Woods, Shannon Sexton, Chrissy Hathaway, Ben E. Hathaway, Allison Hathaway, Bice Hathaway, Brandon Hathaway, 12 great grandchildren and special friend, Tanya Barker. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Bayou George Assembly of God Church with Rev. Albert Hodge and Rev. Eddie Crutchfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
