April Alison Ashton Brown, age 40, passed away August 17 at Bay Medical with loving family members by her side.

She was born on January 31, 1979, to Brenda and Marcus Ashton in Brooklyn, New York. Panama City became their home and April attended Bay County schools.

April was predeceased by her mother, Brenda Faye Newsome Ashton. Left to cherish memories are: her father, Marcus Steven Ashton (Ara); husband, Christopher Brown; daughter, Kryssa; step-daughter, Alashia Holley; step-grandson, Tamyann Holley; sisters, Lee Anne Vann, Katherine Ashton, Olivia Duncan (Christopher); aunts, Kimberly Barbero, Edie Finch, Wanda Willis; especially close nephew and nieces, Kane Vann, Mariam Vann and Kailyn Vann; grandmother, Gwyneth Stewart; other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 7, at Wilson Funeral Home. Visitation 12 noon and service at 1 p.m.

The family is grateful to the medical professionals who cared for April through her final hours.

The family requests that those who wish might share sweet thoughts in lieu of flowers or do a kind deed and think of April.
