ANTHONY MAURUS PICCIANO
Anthony Maurus "Tony" Picciano, 90, of Panama City, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011. He was born April 5, 1921 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to Maurus and Maria Como Picciano. He was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also volunteered for the American Red Cross. Mr. Picciano retired from the Post Office in 1980 after 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Vickers Picciano; daughter, Ila Maria Picciano; three brothers, Maurus Terzolino, James Campano, Dominic Picciano; and one sister, Mary Terenzi. He is survived by his wife, Micheline Picciano; step daughter, Michele Story (Tom); two step-grandchildren, Alan Cortes, Jr, Amy Cortes Gilpin; three step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Dominic Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, with a rosary service to be held at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Panama City, 3128 East 11th Street, Panama City, Florida 32401 in memory of Anthony Picciano.
