In Loving Memory of Anne Curtis Terry

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Anne Curtis Terry, who left us suddenly on the morning of February 8. Born on August 29, 1949, She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, lawyer, author, historian, traveler, and plant lover, whose warmth, wisdom, and passion for life touched everyone who knew her.

Anne was a fierce advocate for justice and equality. As a dedicated lawyer, she worked on employment discrimination cases, fighting for those who had been denied fair treatment. Her commitment to civil rights earned her recognition from the NAACP, a testament to her unwavering dedication to fairness and advocacy.

She had a deep love for travel, with Mexico holding a special place in her heart, she visited many times over the years and was fluent in Spanish. Her passion for history and genealogy led her to write a book tracing her family's roots back to the early 1700s, preserving a rich legacy for future generations.

Anne was happiest surrounded by family, books, and plants, nurturing both the people she loved and the world around her. One of the greatest joys of her later years was spending time with her grandson, Jonas, whose energy and laughter brought a new spark to her life. She cherished playing with him and watching him grow.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Hendrix Terry Jr. "Ned", her daughter, Ellyn Anne Terry, "Ellie", her son, Edward Curtis Terry, "Ted", and her grandson, Jonas Ilin. She is also survived by her twin sister, Lynn, and her nieces, Elisabeth and Kristen. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Eleanor, and her parents, Charles David Curtis and Florine Martin Curtis, whose love and guidance shaped the incredible person she became.

We are heartbroken by this loss, but we find comfort in remembering the joy, kindness, and inspiration she brought to our lives. We invite all who knew Anne to honor her memory by sharing their stories, reflections, and favorite moments with her.
