Anne Mazurek Parker (nee Genyn) passed away on Saturday, August 22nd, leaving behind a rich legacy as a dedicated botanist, master gardener and community volunteer in both Michigan and Florida. She was born on June 5, 1932, in. Wallaceburg, Ontario to Albert and Mathilda Genyn.
She was past presidents of the Parchment, Michigan Garden Club, Kalamazoo Garden Council and Gulf Beach Garden Club; a member of the National Flower Arrangers Guild, a graduate of Landscape Design School and a National State Garden Clubs flower show judge.
After moving to Florida she was a member of the Silver Liners Dance Group and was on the Advisory Committee of the Beach Senior Centre and took pride in the Rose Garden that she helped maintain there.
She was predeceased by husbands, John Mazurek and Loren Parker, her sister Mary Schmitchen and nephews Ed Jr., Dan and Chris Schmitchen. She is survived by nieces Valerie Schmitchen and Veronica O’Connor and nephews Bob Schmitchen and Clifford Walter.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
