Anne Frances Holbrook Zierden, 90, of Panama City, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in her home. She was born on April 5, 1924 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a retired foreign language teacher for Bay High School. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Bay County Historical Society, the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Eugene H. Zierden; sister, Agnes Holbrook Gardner; and brother, Francis M. Holbrook, Jr. She is survived by her four children, Martha Zierden (Eddie Stroman), Robert Edward Zierden, Laura Reed (Larry), David Zierden (Elizabeth Ouellette Zierden); eight grandchildren, Zack and Gabe Stroman, Ashley and Emily Zierden, Cale and Colt Reed, Ian and Adam Zierden; one great grandson, Cameron Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. John Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Bay County Historical Society in memory of Anne Zierden.
