ANN SHULER STOUTAMIRE
1921-2009
Ann Shuler Stoutamire, 87, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was born May 1, 1921 in Liberty County, Florida. She graduated from Florida State University in 1966 with a BA degree in English. Words were important to her life, as was education. In the early nineteen sixties, she was involved with the founding and establishing of Gulf Coast Community College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Tribble and Elnora Shuler. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Stoutamire, of Marianna, James Michael Stoutamire and wife Edith, of Hosford, FL, Jon Charles Stoutamire and wife Marlene, of Apollo Beach, FL, six grandchildren, Kathryn Jordan and husband Scott, Kenneth Stoutamire and wife Allison, Ian Stoutamire and wife, Timi, Jim Stoutamire and wife Melissa, Stuart Stoutamire and wife Lisa, and Amy Stoutamire, five great grandchildren, Hampton Jordan, Daniel and Madelyn Stoutamire, Brady Stoutamire and Emily Stoutamire, two brothers, Olin J. Shuler and wife Carolyn, and Joe Shuler, one sister, Grettza Jones and husband Jim. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.
