On June 5, 2026, Anita Paulette “Polly” Sample Israelson was called to heaven where she is now resting in perfect peace. Polly was born on February 23, 1952 in Haleyville, Alabama to James Joseph Sample, Jr. and Beatrice Bradford Sample. Polly lived a life filled with love, laughter, and family. She possessed a rare, joyful spirit that made her the life of the party, and her delightfully silly laughter will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Polly enjoyed drawing, painting, arts and shopping. As a cornerstone of love for her large, extended family, her presence will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alan Israelson. Cherished memories and love for Polly will be carried in the hearts of all those whom she leaves behind. Polly is lovingly survived by her two sons, Jeff Israelson (Stephanie), and Brad Israelson (Carrie); two grandchildren, Haley Israelson and Emily Israelson; siblings, Sandra Douglas, and Voncille Blaich; brother-in-law, Rick Blaich; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; many extended family members and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Services in honor of her life and faith will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 13, 2026 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am prior to the service.
