Angus Dennis Pledger, 84, of Lynn Haven, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023.  He was born July 1, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was a retired Baptist pastor and a former deputy with the Bay County Sheriff's Department.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Angus & Claudia Pledger; his first wife, Martha Faye Camp Pledger and a brother, Gerald Pledger.  He is survived by his wife, DeeDee Pledger; three children, Dennis Mark Pledger, Allison Pledger Shaw (Bill), Michael Ross Pledger (Katja); seven grandchildren, Dallas Shaw James (Richard), Hunter Shaw (Lauren), Meagan Pledger Wagner (Matthew S. Wagner), Logan Pledger, Connor Shaw, Micah Pledger (Will Finch), Karisa Pledger; five great grandchildren, Allie Kate Sanders, Mason Godwin, Emery Shaw, Everett Shaw, Walker James; five stepchildren, Calvin Tayes, Corry McLean (Mandy), J. Adam Albritton, Kaydeebeth Albritton, Abel Albritton; special caregiver, Clint Payne and numerous nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Humble House Ministries or to Warrior Beach Retreat in memory of Dennis Pledger. The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Josten and his staff, also the staff of ICU and the 4th Floor at HCA Gulf Coast Hospital for their excellent care.
