Obituary

Andrew John Ford, 81, of Panama City, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born October 16, 1937 in Jersey City, N.J. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Navy for 4 years. In 1956 he fell in love with the emerald blue water and white sand of Panama City Beach, and decided to call it home and began his career as an advertising executive for the Panama City News Herald and WMBB in his early years, he then furthered his career selling real estate in our community. And finally, finishing his career managing the Black Angus Dance Hall Saloon. Andy loved everything Panama City Beach had to offer. Taking his boat to Shell Island, late afternoon cruises on the bay, and walking the beaches at sunset. Canoe trips on Econfina Creek was one of his favorite past times with all of his favorite friends from the Black Angus Saloon. Gathering for neighborhood cookouts with friends and family was a special time in the latter part of his life.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Tina Ford Patterson, many longtime friends in the St. Andrews area, family members of his daughter and his best friend Gary Paul.
Andrew is preceded in death by his father Andrew H. Ford and mother Margaret Garrison. Also his loving dog Harley.
A service for friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Bay County Humane Society in his memory.
