Ambus Meredith Smith was born Jan 1, 1940, at Port St Joe, FL. He passed away on Jan 22, 2025, at Panama City, FL. He is loved by all his family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Oscar Ambus and Eda Adams Smith, and son Billy Meredith Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Johnson Smith; son Dean Smith (Amy), son A. Marlon Smith; daughter Michele Smith Hetzel (Randolph), along with their children and grandchildren, Nycole Hetzel Sitte (Chaz), Chaz Jr.; Cassidy Hetzel Bancroft (Douglas), Raegan, Dylan; Jonathan Hetzel (Angela); Travis Hetzel (Samantha); Tessy Marie Hetzel; also, his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, Christopher Davis (Jamie), Madeline, Tucker, Joseph; Matthew Smith (Katherine), Owen, Nolan; Michele Smith Campbell (Brian), Melissa, Bo.

He is also survived by his sisters Carol Grimes and Vivian Stewart;  brothers Marion Smith (Kathleen); Michael Smith (Barbara) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also, he is survived by James Johnson, Ann Johnson Singleton (Jack) and predeceased by Linda Johnson Peuhs, Thomas Johnson, and John Johnson.

Services will be held Friday, January, 31, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3640 State Ave., Panama City, FL. Visitation and viewing will be 1pm-2pm with funeral services beginning at 2pm. Graveside Dedication will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery.
