AMANDA PERKINS HOLLAND

Amanda Perkins Holland, 94 of Panama City, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013. Mrs. Holland was originally from Alexander City, Alabama.
Mrs. Holland had a lovely smile and an inspiring laugh. She was active in First Presbyterian Church and her community until failing health caused her to decrease her activities. Even during this latter time, Mrs. Holland enjoyed watching Baseball games on television, particularly enjoying and supporting "her" Atlanta Braves. She was saddened that she was no longer able to be active in her church, as she enjoyed her church and its ministry and her fellow members. She genuinely cared about others during her lifetime and she will be sorely missed by those she loved and that loved her.

Mrs. Holland was born in Alexander City, Alabama to the late Richard Sharp Perkins and Mattyre Thorrell on August 2, 1919. Mrs. Holland resided in Panama City for many years. She was a long time employee of International Paper Company where she worked as an executive secretary.

Mrs. Holland is predeceased by her parents. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Riley Newman. She later married William Edward Holland, Jr., who passed away in 1983. Survivors include her Step-Son, William E. "Bill" Holland, III (Hannelore) and their children Bettina Sheppard and William E. "Ted" Holland, IV.

A graveside service will be held at Laurel Cemetery in Alexander City, Alabama on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 12:00 PM with Reverend David Keith officiating.
