ALONZO THOMAS COOPER

Alonzo Thomas Cooper, 82, of Panama City, FL, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born January 26, 1928 in Andalusia, Alabama. He was a retired electrical engineer with the Navy Base. He was a member of the St. Andrews Kiwanis Club and the I.E.E.E. He was also a member of Shady Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Andalusia and he attended First Baptist Church of Panama City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud & Ethel Cooper and a brother, Fred Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Sybil Cooper; two children, Karen DeGracia and husband Carlos, Claude Cooper and wife, Jan; three grandchildren, Natasha DeGracia, Amanda DeGracia, Carlos DeGracia; two sisters, Jeanette Thompson, Mattie Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery, Andalusia, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1200, Panama City, FL 32402 or to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Alonzo Cooper.
