Alma Bertha Whisenant passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 21, 2024, at the age of 100 years. She died peacefully with her two sons by her side.

Alma was born on December 26, 1923, in Piedmont, AL to Marion and Ethel Smith. She was a resident of Gulf Breeze, FL and formerly of Panama City, FL. She was a former member of St. Andrew Baptist Church. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, James Doyle Whisenant; her parents; seven sisters, Pluma Conner, Dorothy Renfroe, Helen Spoon, Mamie Wallace, Lillian Smith, Marie Faulkner, Amy Smith; and one brother, Leon Smith.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Wayne Whisenant (Jennifer), Rickey "Rick" Doyle Whisenant (Celeste); three grandchildren, Jimmy Whisenant Jr., Jill Smith (Andrew), Holiday Whisenant (Scott Covell); five great grandchildren, Patrick and Jimmy III Whisenant, Louise and Finton Smith, and Bennett Abbott; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10 am in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
