Alfred James Stephens, Sr., 92, who was born in St. Andrews, FL, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Victoria Stephens, 2 sisters, Pauline Davis and Kathleen Warriner, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Burggee. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nadine J. Stephens, 3 sons, Alfred Stephens Jr. and wife, Josie, Kenneth E. Stephens, Larry W. Stephens and wife, Teresa, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters, Grace Helms and Gwen Sellers. He was a member of St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #212 since 1956 where he served as Worshipful Master in 1966, 1978 and 1992, District Instructor in 1967, 1971, and 1972, and District Deputy Grand Master in 1973. He served on the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home, was past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star St. Andrews Chapter #223, and was a member of Yorkrite, Scottish Rite, and the Shrine Club. He was a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Army serving during the European Theater. Graveside services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. In lieu of flowers make donations to the St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #212 in memory of Alfred James Stephens, Sr.
