Albert L. Clay, 96, of Panama City, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born on March 26, 1918 and grew up in St. Clairesville, Ohio. He retired after 23 years of service from the United States Air Force at the rank of Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked 11 years for the Bay County School Maintenance Department as a Master Lock Smith. He was a World War II veteran, who enjoyed traveling, stamp and coin collecting, wood working, hunting, fishing and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert A. & Fanny Clay; his son, Bobby L. Clay; two sisters, Iva Saccone, Doris Saffel; three brothers, Howard Clay, Bob Clay and Rufus Clay. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beadie R. Clay; two sons, John A. Clay, Richard R. Clay (Mary); daughter, Donna J. Leonard (Benny); two grandchildren, Adam L. Poston (April), David A. Poston (Jennifer); four great grandchildren, Logan A. Poston, Lucas J. Poston, Gabriella M. Poston, Grant J. Poston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Jim Stansbury officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside. The family will gather at the family's home following the graveside for a celebration of his life. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Emerald Coast Hospice, 421 W Oak Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Albert L. Clay.
