AGNES HERRING HOWARD
1911-2010
Agnes Herring Howard, 99, of Panama City, FL passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 after a short illness at a local nursing facility. She was born in Gordon, AL; after meeting her husband, James, they settled in Panama City, which she considered her home until her death. She was a compassionate person who cared for her mother and other family members and friends until their death.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Etha Herring; her husband, James B. Howard; a daughter Glenda Virginia Howard, and three siblings Inez Glass, David Herring, Sarah Frances Bennett and numerous other relatives.
She is survived by two children, Robert B. Howard and his wife, Arlene, of Panama City; and Malinda J. Forbes and her husband, Tommy, of Pensacola. In addition to her children, she is survived by the loves of her life, her grandchildren; Martin B. Howard and wife, Holly, of Tallahassee; Robbie Walker and her husband, Shawn, of Lynn Haven; Ricky Jernigan and his wife , Erin of Bayou George, Justin Forbes of Orlando and Cory Forbes of Pensacola. She also leaves to cherish her four great-granddaughters, Cydney Milligan, Ava Jernigan, Lila Walker and Jada Jernigan. In addition she is survived by several nieces and nephews, June Carlton of Linden, AL, Doris Roberts of Wewahitchka, , Frankie Jean Seal of Slidell, LA., Joe Howard of Salt Springs, FL , Annette Howard Rich, Doug Howard, and Pam Howard Arnold, all of this area.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27th with Brother Michael McCann officiating. Active pallbearers will be Justin Forbes, Cory Forbes, Marty Howard, Ricky Jernigan, Brad Milligan, and Ken Skipper. Interment will follow the services at the Millville Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hyatt and his staff, all her caregivers at Panama City Nursing Center and Covenant Hospice. Mrs. Howard may be remembered with flowers, or friends may honor her memory with a donation to The American Cancer Society or Covenant Hospice.
The family will be at the home of Robert Howard, 2213 W. 21st Street, Panama City.
